Lectors Ministry

Blest are they who hear the word of God and keep it." Luke  11:28

The Lord God has given me a well trained tongue, that I may know how to speak to the weary a Word that will rouse them. 
Isaiah 50:4

Lectors are the voice of God during the Mass permitting God to speak His message of love.  They serve as a bridge between the scriptures and the faithful

Through their Ministry lectors enable the community to draw closer to God through His Word in a way that is life giving

Lectors at St. Martin de Porres serve on a rotation cycle once or twice each month throughout the year

They set aside time to familiarize themselves with their assigned readings and are expected to practice the readings in advance of their delivery. The readings must be uttered with belief, clarity and skill.

The Archdiocese of Toronto/Office of Formation for Discipleship organizes free lectors workshops and lectors are encouraged to attend these workshops.
